Please read the information on this page carefully as this explains what you should do if you want to join the BTRSS or need to make changes to the default payment and investment choices within your pension plan.

You can access the BTRSS Presentation from Standard Life by clicking here. The presentation explains briefly how the BTRSS works and the choices you need to make before deciding to join the plan. You must read the the documents in STEP 1 on this page, especially the Key Features Document and the BT Retirement Saving Scheme booklet, which explain the scheme in more detail.

STEP 1 - I have received the BT communication email

Before making any decisions, you should read through all the pack contents in particular the Key Features Document as this explain the facts in clear terms.

The documents that you must read before you make any decisions are available to read online from the links below. You should read the relevant Offer Letter first as this explains what you should do if you want to join the BTRSS.

The information in the BT Retirement Saving Scheme booklet explains the scheme in much detail and outlines the choices available to you. You should also have had the opportunity to read through all of the information on the Review of BT's UK Pension Schemes website which was set up by BT.

You should print off and retain a copy of each of these documents for future reference. If you do not have the facility to print, please contact Standard Life on 0800 066 5432.

The BT Life Assurance Scheme (BTLAS) - Expression of Wish Form is for information gathering only and completion of this form does not form any contract with Standard Life. Your employer is responsible for this form and for making an application on your behalf.

STEP 2 - I would like to join the BTRSS

Once you have read through all of the documents provided and have obtained advice (if this is required), to join the BTRSS, please follow the instructions given below.

1. Once you have read this, you need go back to the BT communication that was emailed to you and accept the Terms & Conditions declarations that have been set by BT. You will also be required to confirm that you have read and understood the information in your joining pack, especially the Key Features Document.

2. Your information, once you have accepted the BT Terms & Conditions, will then be passed to Standard Life and you will be issued with a secure username and password within a few days. You can then use this to complete STEP 3 if you wish to make any amendments to your plan.

STEP 3 - I have received my username and password

To make any amendments to your plan, please log into your pension plan using the secure details sent to you. Once you have logged in you can:

1. Confirm what payments you want to make to the BTRSS

2. Confirm the funds that your payments are to be invested in

Your personal circumstances may change over time. Therefore it is important to regularly review your fund choice to see that it matches your needs and views at that time - you can easily do this online by logging into your pension plan.
