Giving you more control
The full range gives you a choice of funds - and ranges of funds - covering all the main asset classes. It also gives you access to markets across the world, and to different fund managers and investment styles.
Your options when choosing from the full range
You'll find a summary of all your options in How to choose the right investment options for your pension (PDF, 837Kb).
If you decide to pick your own funds from the full range, you should think about spreading your risk by investing in a variety of asset classes – and a range of investments in each asset class.
It's also very important to make your selection based on your individual needs and attitude to risk.
It will be up to you to keep checking the performance of your investments and to decide if you need to make changes. You may need to update your portfolio regularly to keep on track and in line with your attitude to risk.
Choosing from the full range could be a good option if:
- You have a good understanding of investments and the different asset classes
- You want full control over selecting where you invest
- You're comfortable monitoring your own investments and adjusting them as your circumstances change
You'll find more information about all the funds in our full range, including fund factsheets and charges information, on our UK website.
Things to be aware of
- You can change the mix of your investments as it suits you, but you can’t invest in more than 12 funds at one time, or in a lifestyle profile and individual funds at the same time
- Before you choose an investment option, make sure you understand its aims and risks
- As with any investment, the value of your investment choice can go down as well as up, and may be worth less than what was paid in
Not sure what to do?
Remember, any choices you make now can be changed - so you're not committing yourself forever.
If you're not sure which options are appropriate for you, you should seek financial advice. There is likely to be a cost for this.
